This is not available in Spring 2013 and will be presented from academic year 2013-2014.

Teaching Observation and Reflection

This is not available in Spring 2013 and will be presented from academic year 2013-2014.

If you teach your own class or work as a TA, we will arrange for 2 classroom observations by PFF Fellows. You may also submit any formal teaching observation notes from colleagues or supervisors at institutions where you teach.

If you do not have opportunities to teach your own class or work as a TA, we will arrange for you to observe 2 selected classes and work with you to develop a reflective tool to learn from the process.

In all cases, we offer workshops on teaching observation and reflection to facilitate self and peer observation, and to help build understanding of how to use reflection to improve your design and facilitation of learning processes.

The PFF Certificate Process: 5 Steps At Your Own Pace

1. Join the Program

Use this link to fill out the application form online.

Or download the application form available here. Submit the form to pff@cgu.edu

2: Get a PFF Navigator

You will receive a PFF Navigator Booklet to track your workshop attendance. Collect it from the PFF Office or the Student Services front desk.

Details on how to use it are in the Navigator. Or contact Shamini to discuss your interests and needs to work out how to maximize your professional development.

3: Go to Workshops

Participate in workshops at CGU as well as Honnold Library. Check out the schedule of workshops on the PFF Workshop Listing Page

4: Use Your Navigator

Participate at your convenience. You can take workshops through the entire time you are enrolled at CGU. Just make sure you log your workshops in your Navigator, and the workshop facilitator notes your attendance so PFF has a record.

5: Get a PFF Certificate

When you have completed all requirements for the PFF certificate, submit your navigator and the required tools to PFF.  After verification against our records, you will be awarded a PFF completion certificate.

Please note that at this time, we are not noting your professional development in your official transcript. This may come in the future as we develop our program.
