JAMES TROYER, DRUCKER EMBA ’08, NAMED DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, CITY OF FONTANA

Congratulations to Drucker EMBA alum ‘08 and current MSAM student, James Troyer on his appointment as Director of Community Development for the City of Fontana.  In his new position, James will be responsible for 3 divisions: planning, building and fire prevention.  The City of Fontana is the 2nd largest municipality in San Bernardino County and the 14th largest city in the State of California.

James comes to this new position with more than 20 years of experience in urban planning and public administration during which he has served the cities of Garden Grove, Rosemead, El Monte, and Rancho Cucamonga and provided consulting services to the cities of San Bernardino and Long Beach.

In addition to his Drucker EMBA, James’s education includes a B.A. and Masters in Public Administration from Cal State Long Beach.

“I’ve worked in executive management for over 7 years and whatever issue I’ve faced be it strategy, leadership, finance, economics or board governance, I’ve reached for the tools I have stored in the “Drucker tool box”  to pull out whenever I need them.  That’s what executive education should be:  an experience in which education directly translates into skills to help you in your career.  That’s what Drucker has meant to me.”  -- James Troyer
