Digital and E-Governmental Infrastructures
1995 - Present
Funded by Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Conducted in cooperation with Humphrey Institute, University of Minnesota), these studies focus on transportation and telecommunications systems. Research activities under this agreement have included surveys of teleworkers, evaluation of online traveler information and assessment of rural emergency medical systems. Results of studies will be used to guide policies and projects so as to ensure that new digital technology systems provide effective environmental and community benefits, particularly in rural settings.

Health and Medical Informatics

Funded by QTC Management. This project is a three year research partnership to investigate and devise an assessment methodology for targeting new projects and services in the medical informatics business and policy area. Research activities conducted through this partnership have included a nationwide survey of physicians about online medical assessments, an in-depth review of digital signature options, and an industry analysis of technology influences on disability evaluation. click for project listing

Community and Social Technology Assessment
2001 - Present
Funded by the US Department of Labor and Economic Development Agency, these projects have investigated the impact of IT on community development and social development. The DOL study (being conducted in collaboration with the University of Minnesota, MITE, and the University of Texas) is investigating the use of telework among disabled workers. The EDA study as investigated with IT policies that could enhance economic development among underserved areas of Orange County. click for project listing
