Teaching & Research Interests

His research and teaching interests are in local public finance. Currently he is focusing on understanding how local policy makers frame issues around the local property tax. The goal of this research is to provide an explanation for why the property tax is rarely implemented in accordance with theoretical ideals.

Benoy Jacob is the Mary Nicolai-George Blair Assistant Professor of Public Policy in the Department of Politics and Policy. He received his B.A. (1996) and M.A (2000) from Concordia University in Montreal and his PhD from the University of Illinois, Chicago (2008).
