We offer a variety of master’s and doctoral degree programs, with a strong applied research component. Through our internationally recognized Engineering & Computational Mathematics Clinic, we provide students first-hand experience in solving significant mathematical problems for industry and government clients. Together with the five other mathematics departments within the Claremont Colleges (Pomona, Scripps, Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer), we run regular research seminars and colloquia.
The Institute of Mathematical Science was founded in the late 1960s as the graduate division in Mathematics for the five undergraduate Claremont Colleges: Harvey Mudd, Claremont McKenna, Pitzer, Pomona and Scripps.
It currently has:
A series of speakers from industry-leading companies.
