Join Cuban-born American writer, curator, and art conservator Rosa Lowinger as she reads from her recently published book Dwell Time: A Memoir of Art, Exile, and Repair. The first memoir by a working art conservator, Dwell Time details the history and intergenerational trauma of Lowinger’s Cuban Jewish family, her discovery of art conservation, and her eventual return to Havana for work, which leads to “a remarkable journey of family repair that begins, as it does in conservation, with an understanding of the origins of damage.” Presented by the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery, the Department of Art Conservation, and the Denison Library, with support from the Clark Lecture Funds.
