Educational Studies Prof. William Pérez’s book receives Critics Choice Award from the American Educational Studies Association

School of Educational Studies Professor William Pérez‘s latest book, Americans by Heart, has received a Critics Choice Award from the American Educational Studies Association.

The Critics Choice Award serves to recognize and increase awareness of recent scholarship deemed to be outstanding in its field and of potential interest to members of the association.

Pérez is one of the nation’s leading voices on undocumented students. His work has received awards from the major education associations and his knowledge and opinion are in very high demand by leading media outlets.

His previous book, We ARE Americans: Undocumented Students Pursuing the American Dream, was awarded the 2009 Mildred Garcia Prize for Excellence in Research by the Association for the Study of Higher Education.
