President Deborah Freund to speak at regional economic conference
Claremont Graduate University President Deborah Freund will be a featured speaker at the Inland Empire Economic Partnership’s 2014 State of the Region Conference in Ontario, California on April 17.
Freund, one of the country’s leading health care economists, will discuss how the Affordable Care Act will likely impact Southern California’s Inland Empire region in 2014.
Health care is the one Inland Empire sector that maintained growth straight through the Great Recession as health care providers expanded to try and keep up with the area’s rapid population growth.
The sector will be a source of continued job growth with the addition of thousands of newly insured families.
Other presenters at the conference include John Husing, chief economist of the Inland Empire Economic Partnership, and Steve Rufner, Southern California president of KB Homes.
The conference begins at 11:30 am at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 222 N. Vineyard Ave in Ontario. Individual tickets are $90 and are available online.
