Sheri Dew to speak on women and the priesthood Oct. 11
Sheri L. Dew, president and CEO of Deseret Book Company, will speak at Bridges Auditorium at 7:30 pm on Saturday, October 11. A guest of Claremont Graduate University (CGU) Professor Patrick Mason, Dew will speak on “Women and the Priesthood.” The event is co-sponsored by the Howard W. Hunter Foundation and CGU’s volunteer Mormon Studies Council.
The event is free and open to the public, although registration at alumnicommunity.cgu.edu/sheridew is strongly recommended.
Dew is a 30 year veteran of the publishing industry and has authored several best selling books. She is a recipient of a medal of honor from the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, and has spoken at such international conclaves as the World Congress on the Family. In March 2003 the White House appointed her as a member of the U.S. Delegation to the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations.
This lecture is part of a celebration of the establishment of the Howard W. Hunter Chair in Mormon Studies and the Joseph and Marilyn Bentley and Robert L. Millet Fellowships in Mormon Studies at Claremont Graduate University.
