Professor Linda Perkins to speak at UNLV in honor of International Women’s Day
Linda Perkins, director of Claremont Graduate University’s Applied Women’s Studies Program, will speak at University of Nevada Las Vegas on Thursday, March 17.
Her talk, held in observance of International Women’s Day, will offer an in-depth look at the current climate and challenges for international women in higher education. She will also explore the challenges that immigrant women experience in the United States.
The talk takes place at 1 p.m. in the university’s Majorie Barrick Museum.
Perkins is a historian of women’s and African American higher education. Her primary areas of research are on the history of African American women’s higher education, the education of African Americans in elite institutions, and the history of talent identification programs for African Americans students.
