The Evaluators’ Institute Announces the Creation of the TEI Social Betterment Award

The Evaluators’ Institute (TEI) is proud to announce the establishment of the TEI Social Betterment Award, which will recognize an individual or individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the field of evaluation.
The award, which offers a significant sum of $10,000—as well as an optional $2,000 travel stipend—celebrates an evaluator whose work exemplifies the transformative potential of evaluation to improve societal outcomes and advance equity and inclusion through meaningful collaboration and innovation.
“For 100 years, Claremont Graduate University has been committed to conducting research and evaluation that makes a meaningful and demonstrable difference in society,” said Dr. Tiffany Berry, director of student affairs and strategic planning for TEI and dean, School of Social Science, Policy & Evaluation at Claremont Graduate University.
“Now is the time to recognize those change agents in the field, working in the trenches hand-in-hand with program practitioners who strive to make the world a better place. I’m excited to uplift the stories of applied researchers and evaluators who work tirelessly with program practitioners to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of services they provide so that the impact of programs is amplified. We hope this award recognizes the power of evaluation in fostering a more just, informed, and thriving world.”
The award welcomes both applications and nominations. Participants will be evaluated on their ability to demonstrate the societal impact of their work, their commitment to equity and inclusion, and their collaborative efforts, supported by community endorsements.
Applications for the TEI Social Betterment Award will be open from February 28, 2025, through March 28, 2025, with the winner being announced in early May.
