Gabriel Allen Paras (he/him) is an Assistant Recruiter at Claremont Graduate University. With experience in tutoring and liaising, he applies his communication skills, engaging with applicants and prospective students. Gabriel holds a bachelor’s in history (pre-teaching credential) from Cal Poly Pomona, where he wrote his thesis, ‘Desertion and Diaspora: Filipino Laborers and Community Formation in North America, 1565-1898.’ His research focused on Filipino labor migration and the formation of early Filipino communities in North America. He is also pursuing a Master of Arts in History at CGU. Additionally, Gabriel served as the Cultural Relations Coordinator for Bridge the Gap, a San Diego nonprofit educating young Filipino Americans on their history and culture. He consistently seeks opportunities to express his expertise in research, teaching, and writing.
