Referral Program Overview:
The CGU Referral Program (“Referral Program”) is designed to reward prospective students who are referred to Claremont Graduate University (CGU) by alumni, faculty, students, staff, and friends of CGU.
Referrer’s Role:
- To participate in the Referral Program, individuals must refer prospective students to CGU by providing their contact information through the designated form on cgu.edu/referral-program
- Referrers must ensure that the referred student is aware of the referral and agrees to be contacted by CGU regarding their application and enrollment process.
Referred Student Benefits:
- $1,000 Fellowship: Referred students who enroll at CGU will receive a one-time $1,000 fellowship, applied toward their first-term tuition, subject to the terms and conditions outlined herein.
- Application Fee Waiver: Referred students who apply to CGU will have their application fee waived.
Eligibility and Limitations:
- The referred student must meet CGU’s admission criteria and enroll within one year of being referred to qualify for the referral fellowship benefit and application fee waiver.
- The referred student must not be an existing applicant or student at CGU at the time of referral.
- We are unable to reimburse any application fees that have already been paid.
- The $1,000 fellowship is a one-time benefit and will only be applied toward the referred student’s first-term tuition at CGU and cannot be deferred.
- The $1,000 fellowship can be combined with other CGU fellowships such as the departmental fellowship. However, if the referred student receives a fellowship, scholarship, or sponsorship that covers 50% or more of their tuition costs, they are not eligible for the referral fellowship benefit.
- The referred student can only receive the referral fellowship benefit and application fee waiver once.
- The referrer must not be part of the referred student’s application review committee or have any influence on their admission decision.
General Terms:
- CGU reserves the right to modify or terminate the Referral Program at any time without prior notice.
- Benefits under the Referral Program are non-transferable and have no cash value.
- CGU is not responsible for any tax implications resulting from the receipt of benefits under the Referral Program. Referred students are advised to consult with a tax professional regarding any potential tax liabilities.
- Participation in the Referral Program constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
By participating in the Referral Program, both the referrer and the referred student acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to abide by the terms and conditions outlined herein.
