Seminars and Colloquia

In conjunction with the Claremont Center for Mathematical Sciences , the Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMS) promotes weekly seminars and colloquia in various fields of pure and applied mathematics.

 

Professional Societies

IMS encourages participation of its students in several professional societies. Through its institutional subscriptions, IMS can offer free memberships for its students in SIAM, AMS, and AWM.


Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics

The mission of SIAM is to build cooperation between mathematics and the worlds of science and technology through publications, research, and community.


American Mathematical Society

The mission of AMS is to further the interests of mathematical research, scholarship and education, serving the national and international community through publications, meetings, advocacy and other programs.


Association for Women in Mathematics

The purpose of AWM is to encourage women and girls to study and to have active careers in the mathematical sciences, and to promote equal opportunity and the equal treatment of women and girls in the mathematical sciences.


Mathematical Association of America

The Mathematical Association of America is the largest professional society that focuses on mathematics accessible at the undergraduate level.


National Association of Mathematicians (NAM)

The National Association of Mathematicians (NAM) is a non-profit professional organization in the mathematical sciences with membership open to all persons interested in the mission and purpose of NAM: promoting excellence in the mathematical sciences and promoting the mathematical development of all underrepresented minorities.
